OUR TEAM STRUCTURE

Chalk Circle is a unique organisation with a unique team structure. We believe in practicing what we preach internally when it comes to our values of equality, accessibility and empowerment. We don’t approach our work with the rigid, impersonal and undemocratic hierarchic structure of corporations, instead, we take a more creative, equal and flexible approach to our team structure, inspired by worker-owned enterprise models.

At Chalk Circle our team is made up of 3 teams, called Collectives: the Operations Collective, Communications Collective and the Programs Collective. Each team recruit people to fill the skill-gaps of work that needs to be done for their relevant projects. There are no set ‘positions’ advertised in this process, instead, after a month working with the team the successful recruit gets to self-select their own title to fairly reflect the work they do.

Our teams put a big effort into creating a caring, supportive environment, maintaining a fun and passionate approach to the work, and providing opportunities and challenges to help develop skills and confidence for all team members. If this all sounds like the kind of team environment you want to be a part of, check out the skill areas we want to add to the team below!
